Vaccine Education
Advocate Like a Mother
if you’ve ever walked into a doctor’s office with questions about childhood vaccines and left feeling dismissed, belittled, or even shamed… you’re not alone. I’ve been there, too.
Maybe you’re wondering:
Why does the CDC’s recommended schedule feel so one-size-fits-all?
Why aren’t my concerns taken seriously when I ask thoughtful questions?
Why am I met with blanket answers like “safe and effective” instead of real dialogue?
These are real questions that deserve real answers.
When “informed consent” isn’t really informed…
As moms, we carry the responsibility of making decisions that will affect our children for the rest of their lives. That’s heavy. And yet, in one of the most important areas of healthcare, parents are often left without space to learn, wrestle, and make informed choices.
Here’s the thing: healthcare should never be one-size-fits-all. Where there is risk, there must be choice.
Understanding vaccines — the diseases they’re designed for, the risks and benefits, the ingredients involved, and the history of how we got here — gives you the power to:
Advocate confidently in the doctor’s office.
Weigh your child’s unique risks and needs.
Make decisions rooted in knowledge, not pressure.
What to do First…
Be informed.
Learn about each vaccine individually — not just the schedule as a whole.Know your child.
Every child is unique, and so is their risk profile.Understand immunity.
Learn how natural immunity works in the body and the long-term benefits it can offer.Know your rights.
Every state has different laws and exemptions. Understanding yours helps you advocate with confidence.

What Actually Happened in 1986?
So what actually happened in 1986?
That year, President Reagan signed a law giving vaccine manufacturers legal immunity. In simple terms, this means that vaccine companies cannot be sued for any harm their products may cause.
Think about that for a second. Every other industry is held accountable:
Surgeons must carry malpractice insurance.
Businesses of all kinds are required to have liability insurance.
Car seat and crib manufacturers can be sued if their products are defective.
The Impact
“Safe products don’t need liability protection.”
But vaccine manufacturers? They carry zero risk. No liability. No accountability.
From a legal standpoint, this matters because immunity removes the incentive for strict quality control. If a company knows it cannot be held responsible for injury or death, why would it go above and beyond to ensure safety? In theory, they could put anything into a vaccine and never face consequences. It’s criminal.
Once that law passed, families could no longer sue manufacturers for vaccine injuries or deaths. And here’s the kicker: if vaccines were truly “safe,” why would such a protection even be necessary?
After 1986, the childhood vaccine schedule expanded dramatically. Almost overnight, 48 additional doses were added. Today, the U.S. gives more vaccines than most developed countries — and yet we also have some of the sickest kids in the world. Nearly 50% of American children now live with at least one chronic illness.

The Bigger Picture
Not long ago, lethal infections were a real fear in the Western world. But starting in the mid-1800s, deaths from infectious diseases began a steady decline. By the early 1900s — decades before widespread vaccination — mortality rates had already dropped significantly, thanks to improvements in sanitation, nutrition, and living conditions.
The book Dissolving Illusions documents this history in detail. Using data from long-overlooked medical journals, newspapers, and public records, it shows that vaccines, antibiotics, and other medical interventions were not solely responsible for the increase in lifespan or the decline in disease-related deaths.
If the medical establishment could misinterpret or ignore such crucial history, we must ask: what else is being overlooked or misunderstood today?
This is why history matters. Understanding where we’ve been helps us recognize patterns, ask better questions, and ensure that the worst mistakes are never repeated. If you’re beginning your research into vaccines, I highly recommend starting with Dissolving Illusions. It lays a solid foundation for truly understanding the industry.
