Avoiding Toxic Exposure Altogether.. Is It Even Possible?

Real talk: while completely avoiding all toxic exposures would be amazing, it's not actually possible in today's world.

And with the rise in popularity to MAHA, low tox living and it becoming mainstream - please use discernment.

When people first learn about low tox living, chemicals in our food/products and the environment - they often have a ton of anxiety or it can become dogmatic, or an idol very quickly.

As an influencer let me be honest: this is fueled by many people online who love to fear-monger and overstate the risks because they know that outrage earns them clicks, follows and engagement on social media or, they just don't know what they are talking about and regurgitate information from other people.

The goal when it comes to toxic exposures is NOT perfection... it's PROGRESS. It is living a little less toxic in a toxic world. Keeping this in mind will help you to lower your stress and anxiety about doing it "right" or trying to achieve a 100% toxin-free life (again: this isn't possible!) AND knowing this doesn't mean that we do nothing! Instead, we focus on making small, manageable steps like swapping out household cleaners, ditching the scented bath and body works candles and plug-ins, or minimizing plastic in the kitchen. Over time, these small changes add up! Not only do these shifts help reduce your personal exposure, but they also send a powerful message to companies: we want safer, healthier products. When more of us make intentional choices, we create ripple effects that lead to bigger change!! And please hear me out, do NOT feel guilty. We've all been there-looking back at choices we made before we knew better and cringing.

It's part of growth.

Your journey.

What matters most is that you're here now, learning and growing! Growth isn't about being perfect; it's about progress and doing the best we can with the information and resources we have today. Based on our own budgets and needs. And let's extend that same grace to others. Everyone is on their own journey, with different levels of awareness, interest, and motivation. Judging others doesn't inspire change - it makes people defensive and shuts conversation down.

Compassion, understanding, and sharing information in a kind, approachable way? That's what makes a difference.

Not lashing out with judgment behind a keyboard. It's not about doing everything perfectly - it's about doing something. So celebrate your wins, no matter how small, and remember: every step forward matters.
